Mr James Nyoro, the Managing Director of The Rockefeller Foundation, will make a presentation on "Past and future trends of food security and implication for policy in Kenya". Mr Nyoro oversees the Foundation's work in Sub-Saharan Africa, including its innovative efforts to promote the development of new carbon sequestration strategies and bolster food security against the risks of climate change. James previously worked as Executive Director of Egerton University’s Tegemeo Institute, a Nairobi- based policy think-tank where he identified policy needs and developed research themes for African governments and private sector partners. He participated in the formulation of Kenya Vision 2030. James holds a degree in Agriculture from University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Wye College, University of London.
